Richard Ulevitch, Ph.D. joined 5AM Ventures in February 2008 as a Venture Partner. Prior to this date, he was Chairman of the 5AM Scientific Advisory Board while serving as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Immunology at The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, California. He remains as Chairman Emeritus at The Scripps Research Institute. For nearly three decades, Dr. Ulevitch has performed research to understand the role of the immune system in human disease. He also serves as a scientific advisor to European life science venture capital fund, Aravis Ventures, and was previously an advisor to the Lombard Odier Immunology Fund, where he evaluated hundreds of biotechnology companies over the past fifteen years. Dr. Ulevitch currently serves on the Board of Directors of Anaphore. Dr. Ulevitch received an A.B. from Washington and Jefferson College and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.
